The Alumni and Parent Engagement Coordinator (A&PEC) will be responsible for developing alumni and parent programming domestically and internationally, including but not limited to: recruiting, training, and managing local and regional volunteers; designing, staffing, and implementing alumni and parent engagement events; and the development and subsequent oversight of the Alumni Association. This is a full-time, 12-month salaried position.

Alumni Association – Working closely with the Alumni Council (volunteer leaders of the Alumni Association) and members of the A&D staff, the A&PEC will work to expand the Association’s volunteer and subcommittee structure and engagement programs including: admissions, nominations, regional clubs, young alumni, alumni weekend, and mentoring and networking.

Events – In conjunction with members of the A&D staff (as well as additional members of The Gunnery community), the A&PEC will design an annual events plan including, but not limited to: regional alumni/parent events, Parents Weekend, Homecoming, Town Party, Spring Family Day, and Alumni Weekend.

Communications – The A&PEC will assist the Marketing & Communications office in planning and creating content for the semiannual Bulletin magazine, e-newsletters, pages of The Gunnery website, social media channels, and other outreach to the alumni and parent constituencies.

Bachelor’s degree required. Three years of experience in Alumni and/or Parent Relations in an independent school preferred. Excellent word processing, spreadsheet, presentation and organizational skills required. Raiser’s Edge and Google Docs, or equivalent, experience beneficial. Must demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, a commitment to customer service and accuracy, and be a team player. Must be a highly motivated, self-starter with good time management skills and an ability to multitask in a dynamic environment. Must be able to work evenings and weekends as necessary.
